On my last trip to The UAE I visited Fujairah and did two amazing dives at Dibba Rock. Clownfish, barracudas and turtles galore! Not to mention beautiful coral reefs, in contrast to Dubai's "dead sea" due to all the construction work.Fujairah is growing! it said on posters next to the road. Sweden's Fritidsresor now flies its holidaymakers to Fujairah and when I visited Fujairah's Tourism site I was pleasently surprised by fabulous music. Have a listen. One can only hope that Fujairah's waters are spared from excessive construction work.

I couldnt but smile as i open the page to yr post and there i c FUJAIRAH...its my home town u c :) So glad to c it there..it is a beautiful beautiful place and i wish it does not use dubai as a role for growth.. i hope it could be an example on its own.

Welcome noora :) Glad to hear from you! I couldn't agree more. I don't wish to see Fujairah turning into a copy of Dubai but rather make use of the amazing riches it has in terms of nature and its people without over exploiting them. I loved it there, and the old and cute al bidyah Mosque was a satisfying treat in itself!
Yes "Fujairah is growing", but at least here the growth seems more natural unlike the mad rush we see in Dubai, Sharjah & even tiny Ajman. As for the Bidiya mosque, praying inside it was a totally out of this world experience. At least this is what I felt :-)
Just love fujairah, the beaches, the mountains the diving everything is amazing there.
Hmm.. was just in Fujeirah last friday and I didn't have this beautiful impression you did. It seemed to me that it was, well, trying too hard to achieve something it never will...
Perhaps you should give me diving recommendations for next time I'm over there! =)
