WHICH PAPER DO YOU READ??
A story is told of a Jewish man, Moshe Katz, who was riding on the subway reading an Arab newspaper. A friend of his, who happened to be riding in the same subway car, noticed this strange phenomenon. Very confused, he approached Mr. Katz. "Moshe, have you lost your mind? Why are you reading an Arab newspaper?" Moshe replied, "I used to read the Jewish newspaper, but what did I find? Jews being persecuted, Israel being attacked, Jews disappearing through assimilation and intermarriage, Jews living in poverty. So I switched to the Arab newspaper. Now what do I find? Jews own all the banks, Jews control the media, Jews are all rich and powerful, Jews rule the world. The news is so much better!"
Thank you to HumanBeforeJewish for allowing me to post this anecdote.

haha ironic but funny yaar
maybe we arabs should read jewish papers more often :)
moryarti, i've read jewish papers once (in the UK).. they are so cool.. i managed to find one in english and basically arabs were:
-strong
-powerful
-a force to be reckoned with
-etc..
Palestinians :
-are going to defeat us any moment
-have got the whole world watching us
-are having world-opinion sway towards them
-etc...
man that made my day.. and the paper was cheap too.. much cheaper than uk papers.. the times, guardian etc..
:)
Everyone will view things the way they want to. It seems the truth is hard to find on both sides. But it was still humourous though. I agree moryarti, swap newspapers. :)
That was pretty funny. but it also illustrates how many people enjoy feeling victimized.
Bush has been using the same tactic in his propaganda all along: The U.S. is under attack, our very civilization is threatened, we must abrogate all civil liberties and follow orders without question...fear, fear fear, and no room for independent thought.
That is very true elizabeth. The easiest concept one can dish out to people in order to get them to react and do as you say, is fear.
What you fear, you don't approach, and therefor never get the truth about.
Lolll :) But the underlying fact remains: media is biased and u can't and SHOULDN'T believe what u're reading or else u're seeing what these so-called top guns want u to see.
Media has its function however it should never replace common sense, and drawing one's own conclusions whilst searching for knowledge on various issues.
