Silence is man and Speech is woman...?

On one of the most widely seen arab-muslim channels, Iqraa, a man by the name Sheikh Jassem al-Mutawah explains the differences between Man and Woman.

I was very surprised to see that a channel like Iqraa, known for its moderate and contemporary elements would allow such a man camera time to voice what is no doubt a Wahabi inspired Saudi view of Women.

Watch what he had to say, with english subtitles.

Ps. His words are not lost in translation. His arabic corresponds to what has been translated.

What a man, typical wahabi thinking, I'm as surprised as you to see this video. Great post makes you think more about what nonsense people are spreading.

Sounds more like an attempt at comedy

Why is it that religions are locked in time, wonders Prometheus.

And Shaykshpeara, this blog is getting better by the day. Your takes on Omani dancers and Smoking Scents are amazing. Prometheus doffs his chapeau to you.

D Reb, I reckon there's a whole lot of nonsense out there that one just hasn't heard of because on etends to be safe from it, at least in a small way.

Usama, well I would label it as comedy but this man would not. He has a show on Iqraa and that's his "thing".

Hello Prometheus :) How are you and how's life back in desiland?

Well I don't think religions are necesserily locked in time...often cultures are more what with traditions etc. This man obviously longs for the days of caves and all but a lot of "religious" men thankfully do not.

Glad you are enjoying the blog :)

Well I do not think it is that far from the truth. He does say it is not about ALL women/men but a general thought.
Women will generally put their mouth in motion before their brain goes into gear.
There is no need to get womens lib and go out and burn a few bras.
The fact is that the drawing of the woman should have continued under the smiley face.
And concentrated on her heart. Because this is what is essentially the genetic make up of a woman. She is more likely to get emotional and thus converse, as opposed to a man who will think with his brain.

Good Lord! What a bunch of bull! I can see at least ONE man whose brain stopped working...

Men are far more violently emotional than women. Far more.
More women are murdered by their male relatives than men murder women. If that's not emotion (anger, hatred, rage), and an unbelievable inability to control it, I don't know what is.

Should be: "More women are murdered by their male relatives than women murder men."

Uff kaya, I knew you would have something to say in defence of that ullo lol Challo jo bhi hai, I ain't feeling it.

Musical Chef, indeed!

A person, welcome. I am a bit confused with what you're saying. More women are murdered than men murder women? Either way, indeed, a lot of women are killed or beaten by their male relatives.
