It doesn't matter, it's there on a platter,
of silver and gold, yes that's my heart.
Whether you ask me, or whether needs be,
it's served bold and bare from the start.
~
Nothing to cover, just to discover,
Nothing to cover, just to discover,
that though we don't know where we are.
It doesn't bother, nor does it burden,
because we've made it this far.

Awesome
This poem, it's beautiful, not only that, it also reminds me of a beautiful graphic novel I've read a year ago.
Harlequin Valentine by Neil Gaiman. A girl finds a heart nailed to her door; it's the heart of a harlequin that's in love with her. She doesn't know what to do with it, so she ends up eating it. It's all a dream though, in the end. But it's still beautiful.
Beautiful poem SS...
I usually don't post comments on poems because I don't think I have what it takes to truly understand poetry. This one, though, hits a few soft spots in the heart.

Samawel, samawel, I love your comments. Harlequin Valentine you say? I have to check it out. Although I don't want anyone eating my heart... then again, as Oscar Wilde says, each man kills the thing he loves. :)
Still, there's something beautiful about the innocence of the girl in terms of love, having a heart served to you yet still not knowing what to do with it, finally eating it, not out of viciousness. Thanks for directing my attention to the book :)
Boo, I don't believe in having what it takes to understand poetry. Either a poem appeals to your heart or it doesn't. And if it doesn't it's most likely so because it wasn't conveyed in a way you can relate to it :)
I'm glad you liked it though, and don't hesitate to comment next time there's a poem :)
SS... tis the most beautiful poems I've read in your blog thus far, I must admit.
Wonderfully full...
Shukran Tainted :) I'm glad it hit home.
very nice indeed
Very touching....
:)
D Candy, what's happening at your end? When's the move?
Shalom dating master! I've heard about you.
Thing is, I'm thinking of starting the first ever Muslim nunnery...which would sort of make it impossible to bond in such a way...what do you reckon?
Anyways you are always welcome for a nice cup of tea with your Mrs. :)
Hey Shaira, good poerty, as i said earlier a few times you should write more poetry.
very emotive poem...
i noticed most ppl said something positive about the poem, but i want to ask about it (as usual)...
when was the poem written for example?
D rebel, I write when it wishes to be written. Wish I could write more :)
Buj, it was written the same day it was published. Anything else? :)
yeah.. where's the picture from?
it's almost as good as the poem!
The pic is taken in St Peters Church in the Vatican, Rome.
Well, this poem is fantastic but I feel this is only part of it. It misses the beginning, and the end isn't that clear (made it this far). Dammit, this beer is strong...burp.
Yeh peenay peenay kya hai? besharram! lol
Well that was all that wanted to come out. Still I also felt it needed another verse, but I couldn't put it in words. Ah well...
peenay peenay kya hai? besharram el sheikh?
you lost me there!
is this an epilogue to the poem?
lol not exactly. I am commenting on archer's recent drinking habits. Ain't that right arch?
yeh peenay peenay kya hai, basically means what's up with all this drinking.
gotta keep drinking, the sandlands have transformed to quicksand. But the bottle keeps me fine and dandy. Hic. :-b
Hay Hay..."tu nay peenay nahi chordi"
