Torture awareness month has now passed, and the hype probably settled. I hope everyone has linked their blogs. Might not seem like it matters, but one never knows what forests can come out of a small seed ey?
In Stockholm today, the organization for artists and musicians Euro Colors is organizing a protest and manifestation against the United States Government's abuse of International Law concerning Torture and the imprisonment of people at Guantanamo and secret prisons throughout the world, without having any charges pressed against them, nor trial to prove or free of guilt.
My recommendation to Mr. Bush this fine day; Perhaps a trip to sunny, tropical Guantanamo? Wearing a lovely t-shirt from The White House Officious Gift Shop? Watching a highly entertaining movie* about his achievements in Guantanamo and his fight for Free Doom?
Happy 4th of July!

*clap, clap, clap* Well said.
troppi bastardini!
anyway here at work (as a stark contrast) they are serving bloody hamburgers to celebrate and free mars bars..
needless to say i lunched at home.
major tozzing 4th of july.. a celebration of inequality, unfairness, torture, occupation, and tyranny.
Thanks Tainted.
Buj, the free mars bars didn't tempt you? lol
Why in the world would they be doing that at work?
Well as you can see, I major tozzed it kaman.
Oh no - he wouldn't be so brave.
He just went to Fort Bragg to rah-rah the troops, after visiting Memphis with Japanese President Koizumi to see Elvis over the weekend.
Why would he want to go to Gitmo and face the truth?
On that note... did anyone see the videos of Bush and Koizumi at that visit? Koizumi does a mean Elvis impression!
Sorry... don't mean to ruin the serious tone going on, but had to mention that.
I have to dissent on this one; 4th of July is a celebration of the freedom and independence of the USA. It shouldn't be confused with specific governemnts and presidents and policies. No matter how strongly one feels about certain American policies, making fun of the inependence day of that nation is shooting at the wrong target.
@ istiqlal
Accepted but the invite was for mr.booosh ya georgieeeee.
And he is the one who has caused so much pain and suffering.
Hey NZM, yes I heard about his apparent fascination with Elvis...ah well. Next year perhaps.
Boo! How's HK treating ya? Well all no nserious notes are welcome as well :)
Istiqlal welcome! I agree, making fun of a national day serves little person, and directing agner towards a people for the wrongs of their government is not entirely correct. As you can see, I adressed BUSH, the President of many evils not at all representative pf the values of 4th of July that the government proclaims to maintain and live for...like FREE DOOM (sorry meant freedom).
Kaya always good to see you meri jaan.
[not] surprisingly, The Road to Guantanamo is only playing at one theater here in Toronto.
I saw the trailer and want to go see the movie, but it's playing downtown... and it's not always convenient going downtown.
Salams Umar, been a while :)
That is so typical... they strangle any voice that dissents. If not directly, indirectly which is even worse because there is no pointing out the culprit is there?
I'm hoping they will play it here in Sweden, if not there is always the dvd one can get. Hopefully
