nice one :)
tell me who wrote this? the actual words, not the poem, ya3ni who's handwriting is it?

also what's the 2nd word, is it yaftarid or ya'3tared etc..?
not sure!!

the words are short and to the point, but there is more to them i'm sure :)

The qasida has such a beautiful story behind it - good to see it on your blog, Shaikha.

I just wish I had written something like this and received what he received.

It is ya3tared, there's a sukoon on top of the 3ayn that perhaps can be confused for a noqta, however the shape of the 3ayn should give it away.

I am afraid it is my handwriting (although it is probably obvious with the lack of proportions etc), but I am as yet to learn how to write Arabic on my keyboard and publish it, so til I learn that I will have to use my hands.

Farrukh, indeed, what a poem. It is so much more than the words written down themselves. Even this quote means more than meets the eye and if one only takes it literally one looses the spirit of the poem which in itself is a journey that has many last destinations.

Arabic calligriaphy is just beautiful.. probably the most beautiful in the world.. or maybe it's just me being biased.. i should collect some drawings and post about them soon :)

There's a bunch of Arabic virtual keyboards running around on the net. I personally use one that's on an Israeli university's website--which makes things always amuzing. I don't always have an Arabic-enabled keyboard.

But yep, calligraphy in any written scripts are beautiful. Even if they're out of proportion.

The poem is beautiful, easy to relate to--aat least by me.

Buj by all means please do so :)
and yes there is something about arabic calligraphy although chinese holds its own pretty well too.

Thanks for the tip Samawel. It is definately easy to relate to, on very many levels.
